Open Baladin Genève opened on Monday 4 April in Switzerland, in Carouge (Canton of Geneva).
Open Baladin Genève is the first Open Baladin abroad (the others are in Cuneo, Turin and Rome). The concept was created by Teo Musso to create and spread the culture of craft beer, promoting it through the knowledge of craft and independent breweries that operate in Italy.
The project format, launched in 2009, offers a wide range of craft beer on tap. In line with an open mind approach, Open Baladin hosts beers by the Baladin farm brewery, as well as beers produced by independent Italian craft breweries and, in Geneva, Swiss breweries too.
Open Baladin Genève is the result of the joint initiative of Teo Musso and entrepreneur Giuseppe Montilla, who runs several successful establishments in Geneva.
For the first time, this is a brewpub with an open 10 hl brewing room and an underground cellar, where the two beers produced exclusively for the pub will be fermented. It will also be possible to host collaborations with other breweries.
As usual, French artist Marina Obradovic and her team of craft artists have been asked to create the right mood to give Open Baladin Genève its distinctive character.
Open Baladin Genève has 120 seats in the main room dominated by the bar, two side areas – one of which has been converted into a lounge - and a large outdoor area. Next to the open brewing plant is a shop where you can find all the specialties produced in Piozzo.
Craft beer is at the heart of the Open Baladin Genève brewpub's offer, with 30 beers on tap and the full range of bottled and canned beers produced at the farm brewery in Piozzo, Piedmont.
In addition to the two special beers brewed at the pub (Blonde and Blanche Carougeoise), 12 Baladin beers and no less than 16 Swiss craft beers from 8 independent craft breweries (Bières du Niton, Brasserie Les Barbus, Brasserie du Mât, Brasserie Artisanale Gotan, Hoppy Pug, Brasserie de la Borne, Brasserie FMR, 7Peaks Brasserie) are also available).
Cocktail lovers will find easy to drink beer-based cocktails and our "gin tonic", mixed with Gin Baladin (only available at Baladin establishments) and Baladin tonic waters.
The soft drinks produced in Piozzo round off the offer.
Rich and accurate dishes, perfect for every time of the day, are the ideal companion to embark on an exploration of taste, where food complements beer and the two bring out the best in each other, searching for the perfect marriage.
For those who love leavened products, the chef presents Focaccia Nazionale (made at the correctional facility in Cuneo): it’s the perfect base for creative toppings, including great classics such as mozzarella, as well as salmon marinated in beer or a vegan version with zucchini, mixed seeds, ginger and tomato pesto.
Imaginative salads make everyone happy, just as our fried “tidbits” or the Open Baladin ravioli with tasty fillings.
Meat and fish courses, of course, are also on offer, as well as the unfailing Open Burgers, made with selected meat from Swiss farms, fish or vegetarian ingredients.
A unique offer that starts with breakfast, and continues with lunch, dinner and a relaxed, enjoyable evening.
